History
For over 23 years, James Financial Partners (JFP) has been helping businesses and individuals pursue financial independence. JFP was created by Tyler James, President, for one sole reason—to work for the client, not for the company. Through his time working for other financial services companies, Tyler recognized that the client didn’t always come first in the companies’ corporate agenda. Starting JFP, and operating as an independent planning firm, allowed Tyler to eliminate any corporate politics and focus on the unique individual issues of each client. Despite not being affiliated with any particular corporate agenda, JFP is still able to offer high quality strategies and award winning technology through their registration with Osaic Wealth Inc. Osaic Wealth Inc., the second largest independent broker/dealer in the nation, serves as the compliance management and support team for JFP. Osaic Wealth Inc. does not manufacture or affiliate with any specific financial products, and therefore there is no agenda for selling products.
Stacey James, Vice President, joined JFP in 2010 in the capacity of Operations Management and Office Administration. She has since become fully licensed with her Series 6 and 63 exams. She is currently the Vice President/Director of Operations. Abigail James-O’Quinn joined JFP in 2015 in the capacity of client services coordinator and business manager. Abigail has since obtained her Series 7 and 66 Licenses and is now a Financial Planner with the firm. Mike Nangle transitioned to the Financial Services industry after working in the Insurance industry for over 20 years. During his time in the insurance industry, he worked closely with JFP and his clients before deciding he wanted to join the team as a Financial Advisor.
James Financial Partners also proudly and actively supports both the Springfield and the Rogersville area chamber of commerce. While also supporting local organizations like Harmony House,
James Financial Partners is a proud member of "Springfield's Best" and is honored to be the recipient of the Springfield News-Leader’s Best of the Ozarks Award under the Financial Services category for three years running in 2013, 2014, and 2015. JFP was also recognized as a "Five Star Wealth Manager" in 2024 and 2025 by St. Louis Magazine, Midwest region.
The FIVE STAR Wealth Manager list is created by Crescendo Business Services LLC. It includes less than [insert percentage] of [insert number] wealth managers in the [insert city] area in [insert year]. Award candidates are identified by one of three sources; firm nomination, peer nomination or prequalification. Wealth managers were evaluated across ten criteria: (a) Credentialed as an investment advisory representative or a registered investment advisor; (b) Actively employed as a credentialed professional in the financial services industry for a minimum of five years; (c) Favorable regulatory and complaint history review; (d) Fulfilled their firm review based on internal firm standards; (e) Accepting new clients; (f) One-year client retention rate; (g) Five-year client retention rate; (h) non-institutional discretionary and/or non-discretionary client assets administered; (i) Number of client households served. (j) Educational and professional designations. Favorable and unfavorable evaluations are included in the score. Each wealth manager is reviewed for regulatory actions, civil judicial actions, and customer complaints. A favorable regulatory and complaint history is defined by Five Star Professional to mean that the wealth manager has not: *Been subject to a regulatory action that resulted in a license being suspended or revoked, or payment of a fine; *Had more than a total of three settled or pending customer complaints filed against them with any regulatory authority or through Five Star Professional’s consumer complaint process; *Individually contributed to a financial settlement of a customer complaint filed with a regulatory authority; *Filed for personal bankruptcy; *Been convicted of a felony. Five Star Wealth Managers do not pay a fee to be considered or placed on the final list of Five Star Wealth Managers. Scores reflect an average of all respondents and are not representative of any one client's evaluation. The Five Star award is not indicative of the wealth managers’ future performance. Wealth managers may or may not use discretion in their practice and therefore may not manage their clients’ assets. Working with a FIVE STAR Wealth Manager or any wealth manager is no guarantee as to future investment success, nor is there any guarantee that the selected wealth managers will be awarded this accomplishment by Five Star Professional in the future. The inclusion of a wealth manager on the Five Star Wealth Manager list should not be construed as an endorsement of the wealth manager by Five Star Professional or the magazine. Five Star Professional is not an advisory firm.
